here!
From Discovery to Clinical Trials to Market
As pharma looks to broaden its capabilities beyond
its four walls and spread the risk and rewards of drug development, companies
are looking east to the multi-billion dollar Asian market, especially emerging
markets like China and India. Already many biopharma companies are taking
advantage of Asia’s scientific talent pool and large patient base to outsource
R&D and clinical trials, and to develop unique alliances with local companies
and universities to speed up drug development. With the global economic crisis
upon us, and major pharma industry challenges like the approaching patent cliff,
these R&D trends are likely to accelerate in coming years.
|
But speeding up development is just one reason multinationals want to build a
presence in Asia. The other reason: emerging markets like China and India are
the fastest growing markets for pharmaceuticals, with some experts forecasting
growth of 14-15 percent in 2009, compared to 1-2 percent growth in the U.S. Yet
regulatory, reimbursement and commercial challenges in these markets are
considerable, and major changes are on the horizon, including China health care
reform and the move toward a central India regulatory authority modeled after
U.S. FDA. |
 |
 |
In light of these tremendous opportunities and challenges, Windhover
conferences, sponsors of the blockbuster Pharmaceutical Strategic Alliances
(PSA), and PharmAsia News – which leverages the editorial excellence of
“The
Pink Sheet” to provide |
|
regulatory, legal and financial analysis of developments in China, India and The Pacific Rim
– will gather the industry’s most senior leaders focusing on Asia and emerging
markets to share best practice case studies; successful regulatory,
reimbursement and commercial strategies; and strategic partnerships from
discovery to clinical trials. |
PharmAsia Summit is THE most strategic level meeting where senior level biotech
and pharma executives share real-life case studies on how they are building a
presence in Asia – from drug development to market. PharmAsia Summit will gather
the industry’s most senior leaders to share best practice case studies,
successful business models and strategic partnerships from discovery to clinical
trials.
Join us for three days of interactive discussions, case studies and panels, and capitalize on Asia’s booming pharmaceutical market.
